Trim Levels
The new F-150 comes in a whopping eight trim levels, so there's plenty of room to customize your truck to ensure you get what you want out of your pickup. At the base level, you'll find the XL, which comes equipped with exterior features like 17-inch wheels, black bumpers, and rear bed lighting. Upgrade to the XLT, and you can enjoy chrome bumpers, while the Lariat offers power-folding heated side mirrors with LED spotlights as standard.
At the King Ranch level, the F-150 comes equipped with a unique two-tone paint treatment and 20-inch wheels. The Platinum nets you power-deployable running boards and more chrome on the exterior. The Limited is top-of-the-line in terms of luxury, sporting 22-inch wheels, a twin-panel moonroof, and a tailgate step. The Tremor is a trim best for off-roading, so you'll find skid-plate protection and a unique hood. With the Raptor, you'll find built-in air extractors in the hood and fenders and a power-sliding rear window.

Engine
Under the hood of the F-150 lies one of six potential engines. The base level has a 3.3-liter V-6 engine that offers 290 horsepower. Other V-6 engines include a 2.7-liter turbocharged variation with 325 horsepower and a 3.5-liter EcoBoost V-6 that's twin-turbocharged and brings 400 horsepower. An available 3.5-liter PowerBoost Full Hybrid V-6 can produce 430 horsepower, and the 3.5-liter EcoBoost High-Output V-6 that can reach 450 horsepower is exclusive to the Raptor. Of course, you can opt for a 5-liter V-8 engine that boasts 400 horsepower.
Performance
The key to successful performance in a truck resides in its capability, and with the F-150, you'll have plenty of towing and payload capacity at your disposal. Even the base-level engine features a towing capacity of 8,200 pounds, but that's only the beginning. At best, your F-150 can tow up to 14,000 pounds when you properly equip it. The payload capacity is similarly impressive, with the base model boasting 1,840 pounds and the maximum is 3,310 pounds.
Interior
Inside the F-150, you'll find a lot of variation based on the trim level. With higher trim levels, the interior can feel downright luxurious with premium materials, storage cubbies, and a massive infotainment system. One of the most notable features is the mobile workspace, which lets you create a large, flat surface inside that makes it easy to work from the cab. Additionally, you can opt for a 7.2-kW generator in the back to power your outdoor party or keep things running at the work site.
Safety Features
The safety features of the new F-150 are substantial, letting you drive with peace of mind. Automated emergency braking with pedestrian detection comes standard, but you can also opt for the available Adaptive Cruise Control and lane departure warning with lane-keeping assistance.
