2024 Ford Ranger
For the 2024 model year, Ford is giving its iconic pickup truck, the Ranger, a much-anticipated makeover and is adding a new trim level. While changes are coming to the Ranger lineup, some things remain the same, such as the exhilarating performance and rugged capabilities that the Ranger is famous for. Of course, the 2024 Ranger will offer the amenities and safety features you expect from a Ford vehicle.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
The 2024 Ranger is available in four trim levels, starting with the XL, which features a bolder front end that takes inspiration from the larger Ford F-150. You'll also notice a taller, squared-off hood and more prominent wheel arches. The XL's grille has a bar-style design and a black finish, while the wheels have a Sparkle Silver finish.
The XLT adds LED headlamps and LED taillights, and it's available with an integrated box side step. With the Lariat, you can take advantage of zone lighting and LED bed lighting. A new addition to the Ranger lineup, the Raptor, rides on 33-inch all-terrain tires and is available with an eye-catching Raptor graphic.
Engine (Power)
Pop open the 2024 Ranger XL's hood, and you'll find a 2.3-liter EcoBoost I-4 engine featuring an output of 270 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque. For the XLT and the Lariat, Ford offers a brand-new 2.7-liter EcoBoost V-6 that generates 315 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque. If you go with the Raptor, you'll enjoy a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter EcoBoost V-6 capable of producing 405 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque. With that much power, you can use the Raptor to tow 5,510 pounds or carry a 1,411-pound payload.
Performance
Every 2024 Ranger comes equipped with a class-exclusive 10-speed SelectShift automatic transmission that seamlessly shifts through gears for precise, straightforward acceleration. The Raptor comes standard with an all-wheel-drive system that maximizes traction and control by distributing power to all four wheels. This model also offers a wide-track suspension and seven selectable drive modes, including a Baja mode for high-speed desert runs. Lower trims come with your choice of rear-wheel or all-wheel drive.
Interior
The 2024 Ranger seats five, with the cabin receiving a makeover to give it a more modern appearance. New features include an available digital gauge display, a textured dashboard trim, and air vents featuring a honeycomb pattern. The XL has a SYNC 4A infotainment system featuring a 10-inch center stack display, while the XLT adds a wireless charging pad.
Inside the Lariat is a 12-inch center stack display, a 10-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system, and dual-zone automatic temperature control. With the Raptor, you can take advantage of heavily bolstered front seats and a sporty steering wheel with aluminum paddle shifters.
Safety Features
With the 2024 Ford Ranger, you get a forward-collision alert that warns you of impending collisions with pedestrians and vehicles. The system can provide braking support if you can't react in time. An available blind-spot monitor alerts you to vehicles traveling in your blind-spot zones, while a rear cross-traffic alert detects approaching traffic when driving in reverse. Other features include adaptive cruise control, a rear-view camera, and a remote tailgate lock.
