1. Ann & Dave’s Kitchen
This eatery is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and serves traditional American dishes. For breakfast, enjoy the egg and cheese omelet, the short stack with bacon, the tenderloin biscuit, or the biscuits and gravy. For lunch, you can’t go wrong with a cheeseburger and fries or onion rings for the whole family. And for dinner, try the Cajun chicken, the fried chicken, the lemon-baked fish, the filet dinner, or the hamburger steak. They are located at 1319 E Wood St.
2. Prater’s Taters
As the name suggests, this restaurant specializes in potatoes of all varieties. That’s not all they serve, though. You’ll find soup, salad, sandwiches, wraps, and more. But let’s start with the potatoes. We recommend the sirloin tater, the smoky bourbon chicken tater, or the veggie tater. If you’d prefer a wrap or sandwich, try the harvest chicken salad wrap or the club wrap. For the kids, they have a kiddie tater or chicken strips. Find them at 1055 Mineral Wells Ave. #16.
3. Tom’s Pizza and Steakhouse
Bring the family out for a nice dinner at this establishment, located at 2501 E Wood St. We love the welcoming and friendly atmosphere as well as the lengthy menu with a variety of options. Order a trip to the salad bar and a large Tom’s special pizza for the whole clan. Add a ribeye, a shishkebab pork tenderloin, the baked tilapia, or the veal parmesan for the adults, and the spaghetti with meatballs, the penne pasta, the chicken filet, or the popcorn shrimp for the little ones.
4. Fresh Market Restaurant
For a little bit of everything, from burgers to sandwiches and pasta to seafood, dine here. Start with the small finger with smashed potato or the full potato skins for an appetizer. For a meal, we like the cajun chicken fettuccine, the ribs and shrimp, the grilled pork chops, the smothered chicken, the seasoned cajun catfish, the prime rib, or the French dip. The kids will like the catfish, fried shrimp, pasta alfredo, or grilled cheese. They are located at 2255 E Wood St.
