Bearing the name that has become synonymous with legendary off-road prowess, Ford’s Bronco Sport is a compact version of the Bronco that more than holds its own in rugged terrain. Like its big sister, this SUV boasts turbocharged power, a robust all-wheel drive system, and a highly functional cabin. Keep reading to learn why the 2024 Ford Bronco Sport has auto shoppers flocking to their local Ford dealer!

Engine and Transmission

A healthy 181 horsepower and 190 lb-ft of torque is generated by the Bronco Sport’s standard 1.5L turbo inline-3 engine. Serious off-roaders will appreciate the extra grunt provided by the available 2.0L turbo inline-4, which produces 250 horsepower and 277 lb-ft of torque. Both motors pair with an 8-speed automatic transmission that comes with steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters on models equipped with the 2.0L.

When it comes to fuel economy, the Bronco Sport’s powertrain helps achieve an admirable 28 MPG highway. A range of up to 448 miles lets you travel deep into remote areas without having to worry about refueling.

Off-Road Performance

With a standard 4×4 system and a well-articulated suspension consisting of front MacPherson struts and double lateral link semi-trailing arms in the rear, the Bronco Sport is ready to take on tough trails. Also standard is a selection of Goes Over Any Type of Terrain (GOAT) Modes that tailor the vehicle’s performance for different environments. These modes include Eco, Sand, and Slippery.

The Badlands model is the most capable version of the Bronco Sport, featuring a twin-clutch rear-drive unit for enhanced control, a more specialized off-road suspension, and two additional GOAT Modes: Mud/Ruts and Rock Crawl.

Interior

The Bronco Sport’s cabin has roomy seating for five and plenty of standard and optional features. It also makes use of top-notch materials that can withstand the elements and are easily washable. For instance, the cargo hold has a rubberized floor, and the seats are wrapped in extra-tough, yet comfortable cloth upholstery. Along with a sizable center console and eight cup holders, the vehicle offers a compartment hidden under the rear seats.

All trims offer heated seats, a wireless charging station, and a power moonroof. Outer Banks models come standard with dual-zone automatic climate control and 8-way power adjustability and memory for the driver’s seat.

Infotainment

All Bronco Sport models feature an 8-inch Sync 3 infotainment touchscreen system featuring voice recognition, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, and support for SiriusXM satellite radio. The optional voice-activated navigation system helps you stay ahead of traffic with updates from SiriusXM Traffic/Traffic Plus and Travel Link. A premium listening experience comes from an available 10-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system.
